Girdner's European work was not limited to Paris. He traveled throughout the continentin search of stories to tell. 3 Continents includes a landscape of cascading terraces in a Spanish vineyard, a newspaper and tobacco salesman tending his stall on an empty street in a small French town, and a narrow shot of boats tied on the edges of a Venice canal beneath hanging laundry. One of Walt Girdner's favorite photos is included in this section, of the show, a night shot of shapes and shadows of fishing boats in a French harbor.
